On the occasion of Vachan Prerna Din  to honour the birth anniversary of our late President Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam various activities were organised in the School by the ever enthusiastic  Library teacher Mrs.Asha Thorat.

The objective of this day highlighted the importance of good reading habits thus opening doors of new knowledge to enlighten young minds.The good reading habits improves vocabulary, develops critical thinking skills, improves memory, improves analytical skills, confidence building, broadens horizon, improves speaking and writing skills, improves focus and concentration. The most important aspect that was highlighted was “GOOD READERS ARE GOOD LEADERS”.

Activities like :
Book friend for teachers, students read Abdul Kalam’s books and expressed their passion for reading books,students also narrated Kalam’s stories, drew sketches of Abdul Kalam, made bookmarks with reading thoughts, this year a special activity was implemented in the school – Newspaper reading, after reading it, children expressed their opinion on importance of newspaper reading they also traced word game, solved sudocu, crossword, mathematical treasure hunt. The non-fictional reading, news paper reading is the need of today. Calendar reading, as well as wrapper reading activities were also conducted. Principal of the school Mrs.Anuja Yerudkar also adhered to these activities giving a message of reading not as a chore duty but a pure gift. The management always tries to instill various qualities into children with such kind of activities.
