Student Council Election

“Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge.” – Simon Sinek

The Student Council Election was held at Silver Crest School,  5th July 2024. The objective of appointing the Student Council is to provide a platform for students to develop their leadership qualities. The Student Council serves as the voice of the student body, facilitating the sharing of ideas, interests, and concerns within the school community.

During the preliminary round, students interested in standing for elections were invited to submit their nominations for various positions. In the second round,   candidates were selected based on their merit and the established selection criteria, which included excellence in academics, sports, overall behavior within the school premises and campus. Students were shortlisted for the position of Head Boy ,Head Girl, Prefects and Vice Prefects.

Campaigning of candidates for various positions took place for about a week, where candidates presented their manifestos in speeches and  attractively designed posters to persuade students to vote for them.

The final stage of the process involved students from grades V to X casting their votes. This electoral process provided students with the opportunity to witness and exercise their fundamental right to vote. The polling process was democratic and anonymous, with students exercising their franchise by selecting their preferred candidates through the voting system.

Following the voting process, the school eagerly awaites for the results of the new Students’ Council.
